
COMMERCIAL PILOT
Commercial Pilot (Part 141)
The Commercial Pilot Certificate is required for individuals who want to fly for compensation or hire. It is the first step to becoming a professional pilot.

Eligibility Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age
-
Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
-
Hold at least an FAA Private Pilot Certificate w/ Instrument Rating
-
Obtain at least an FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
-
Pass an FAA Knowledge Test (Written)
-
Pass an FAA Practical Test (Oral and Flight)

Cessna Commercial Pilot Course (Part 141)
Aeronautical Experience

FAA required 120 hours total time

Must Include:​
-
Minimum 55 hours instruction
-
10 hours complex airplane, or technically advanced airplane training
-
10 hours instrument training
-
One 2-hour dual cross-country
-
One 2-hour dual night cross-country
-
3 hours checkride prep
-
-
Minimum 10 hours solo
-
1 cross-country at least 250NM with three landings
-
5 hours night (10 takeoff and landings)
